Jabra Evolve2 30 Video Review When you wear one of these headsets for a period of time, you can feel the hard plastic from the ear speaker housing pressing against the ear. This is not only uncomfortable for short periods of time, but imagine the discomfort if worn all day? I like this headset. I think Jabra did a nice job to make an affordable headset (I’ll cover pricing here in a moment), one that sounds good and is comfortable.

Jabra Evolve 30 II Jabra have also significantly enhanced the design of the earcups, so internal and external components are more resistant to impact. An integrated busylight turns on automatically when you’re on a call and you can also turn it on manually to signal ‘do not disturb’ mode. Fewer interruptions; wherever your office is. The audio quality is professional for sure, and without a doubt appropriate for use on any kind of business call. I have heard other headsets that do sound better, that provide a more rich sound, but those headsets generally are priced two to three times as much as the Evolve2 30. So give credit where credit is due. This headset does a good job. The Jabra Evolve2 30 series were introduced March of 2021. The Jabra Evolve2 30 Series are engineered to keep you productive. Jabra measured hundreds of heads to engineer a headset that’s 27% lighter (Based on Jabra calculations, compared to Evolve 30.) and extremely comfortable, with reinforced steel headband and a new design that exerts gentle, evenly distributed pressure. Fortunately though, the Evolve2 30 isn’t a cost cutting designed headset. Jabra uses memory foam in the ear cushions which is a premium material, and known to conform to you, and your specific contour, making for a more comfortable wearing experience.

As I mentioned earlier, we all want a headset that’s comfortable, especially if you’re on long calls that can last for hours. So how does the Evolve2 30 rate on comfort? Granted, you shouldn’t expect this sound to rival that of a Bose headset, but you should expect some solid sound overall, and in that sense, it delivers. Something to keep in mind here is this is a business headset, and unlike that Bose headset, it’s not designed for personal entertainment as it’s primary design objective. The types of foam material used in ear cushions are one of the areas where it’s easy to cut corners. Many headsets do cut corners here and it’s easy to tell. This is a careful balancing act that requires enough pressure to keep the headset in place, but not so much pressure that creates headaches or discomfort.
The Evolve2 30 comes with a nice carry case so you can take it with you on the go which keeps it protected, which is nice. It gives you a busy light so you can minimize interruptions, and you can answer and end calls right from the headset when using applications such as Avaya, Cisco, Unify, RingCentral, Alcatel-Lucent, Microsoft Teams, Google, 8X8, Dialpad, Mitel and more. Being able to access calls right from the headset rather than from the computer is a nice bonus. Given that this is a value priced headset, I was impressed with how well it did to squash these noises. It’s easy to find a USB headset because there’s so many to choose from. But, not all of them are able to provide the comfort, sound quality, and reliability needed. The Evolve2 30 doesn’t come with Active Noise Cancellation, or ANC for short. This is a feature that allows the user to press a button on the headset to manage the room noise. The Jabra Evolve2 30 comes with a built-in busy light. When you go live on a call, the busy lamp turns on to alert those around you that you’re on a call, and not to be disturbed. This is a nice feature that helps to minimize interruptions, as well as helps you to get more done during your work day. Headset SoftwareWith all the audio and video meetings going on these days, having a headset to use on those meetings isn’t really optional any longer. The majority of meetings take place using computer applications such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, RingCentral and others. By headset standards, these are both very lightweight, and when it comes to comfort, weight plays an important role. Many headsets we’ve reviewed weigh 6 ounces, and even as much as 10 ounces. So when you stop to compare, it’s easy to see that the Evolve2 30 was designed with comfort in mind. Sound quality - 1 star, 5 stars, or something in between? If you’re someone who works at home, at the local coffee shop, or in an office with a team of people, your communication needs are pretty much the same.
