Mesmerize performs moderately on my skin in that it lasts 6-hours and projects in the average range for 90-minutes before becoming a skin scent. So I went crazy looking for a small bottle I had in a box were I keep those perfumes I don't wear often. After reading the description and the notes, I'd expected something deep, multi-dimensional, maybe oriental - as myrrh, wood and spices might suggest. Other people may enjoy this new apple scented mixture-it has variety within the scent, so, itś not "dull" or "flat", it can seem to be a bit floral, and sweet for sure, However- after the original luxury of oriental sensuousness embodied in the first formula-I cannot conform-or enjoy.Since Mesmerize is fresh, interesting, and likeable, I had no qualms about gifting it to a male relation for Christmas. I deducted her fragrance was Mesmerize since she sells Avon products and some time ago she mentioned she liked how Mesmerize smelled.

I layered it with Avon's Vibrant Fruity on one hand and with Pur Blanca on the other and I guess this is it - a perfect base for further layering. It slowly morphs into a thick, quite heavy, rich, incense-like, Middle Eastern/Arabic-feeling scent. I have a huge collection of high end designer fragrances and some niche ones and this just smells great to my nose! I wore this years ago as a young man and I just re-discovered it and thought I would give it a try again.It is embedded in a spicy, aromatic amber shell, which increasingly comes to the fore as the fragrance develops and remains throughout the entire fragrance. Really worth a sniff and a proper usage :D ,it has a great similarity with Zino Davidoff,only less deep and performant.

Okay, I don't love it and it is certainly not an earth-shattering fragrance since it has a fair-share of that baloney-coloney feel to it, but it also has a smooth myrrh vibe and a nice mix of spices, amber, woods and fruity notes. Simply put, this is a gorgeous "Dad's cologne" smell, bracing at first, then spicy, warm, sweet, smooth, and mossy with a creamy sandalwood finish. I agree with the fact that it smells more expensive than it is and though I have never smelled Zino, if it is like this but heavier with tobacco-I'm sold! I can't describe the significance of this really, except, I guess, that it "smelled like a triangle" to me because the frag. Wore it to work yesterday and the laugh is it had more compliments then the Dior Homme the day before.
