I've actually used my cats litter scoop to spread it but sure any scoop with holes or spreader will be better then by hand.
It’s fine to use Miracle-Gro Thick’R Lawn in gardens with children and pets, but little feet can damage developing seedlings, so it’s best to keep them off the treated areas until the grass has established. I've used lawn fertiliser in bottle spreader attached to hose from same company and it killed off my lovely lawn.It smells like animal manure which attracts flies and more annoyingly the dogs try to eat it (no read other similar reviews). On applying the product I was a bit discouraged by the relative lack of seeds in the mix, but need not have worried.
