About this deal

I used different pickups, volume setting on the guitar and the settings on the pedal to get the different sounds. BOSS's famous yellow Super Overdrive pedal haas been seen on pedalboards owned by the likes of Eddie Van Halen and John 5. B. If the standard guarantee is currently 5 years, by adding this Extended Guarantee the total period of cover would be 8 Years. Thankfully, this is not a part of the circuit that would normally be modified or repaired, but the tiny sized components does hint at what’s to come… And the power circuit – both sides of the board, to the left of the adapter jack – is actually the most probable place where repairs might be needed. I bought this pedal to use it as a boost on top of my main amp distortion, I try to tighten the overall sound like used by most metal guitarists.

Set drive to 0 and level to max, and it pushes your amp into a nice and tight, cutting saturated tone. Its tough and rugged metal chassis can be relied on so you can be confident when taking this pedal on the road with you. Guitarists who’ve used it in the past include Eddie Van Halen (Van Halen), Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) and Robert Smith (The Cure). The SD-1 delivers rich, smooth, and highly musical overdrive tones that continue to inspire guitarists everywhere. This is well away from the input, so I figured chances were good that the ”bleed” issue the SD-1 has carried since its inception would finally be fixed.Apparently Boss’s parent company, Roland, has a patent on asymmetrical clipping, making Boss’s overdrive series the only mass produced overdrives currently on the market that feature this unique voicing. The SD-1 is perfect for beginner guitarists looking for their first pedal, intermediate guitar players wanting to push their playing further and advanced players who wanted legendary tone. The SD-1 Super Overdrive is a classic Boss Pedal that’s remained unchanged since its original release back in ’81 and has dominated the market ever since. Looking inside, we can see that the old circuit, which used to cover most of the pedal’s footprint, has been shrunk down to just the section beneath the control knobs.

The early DS-1(B) and BD-2(B) were made in Taiwan rather than Malaysia, but otherwise share the same design cues. Responding to your picking style like a valve amp, the Boss SD-1 Super OverDrive pedal delivers smooth, rich and warm overdrive to thicken up your guitar sound. It really evokes that 80’s classic rock sound – think of any band who play with a wall of Marshall amps behind them. The very core of the SD-1 is already been passed down to multiple generations of guitar players, spanning a wide variety of genres.
