About this deal
The ice moon of Madurs is not on the agenda for the luxury cruise liner, but after a message from the moon’s Prime Minister Yens, Leia ensures the ship changes course. To the galaxy at large, Madurs is known for its art. Rivaled by few in their ingenuity, this planet uses the ice that surrounds them to create magnificent cities and sculptures. Known to fewer is Madurs is also the home of a rich source of carnium. Carnium is a form of gas that can be harnessed for fuel. Tibanna gas is the main source of fuel supply in the galaxy, but current complications make carnium a prime substitute. The ice sculptures and splendor of the moon make it a perfect alternative destination for the Halcyon’s tourists, and the existing carnium makes it a perfect spot for ambassador Organa to attempt to form a new alliance. Han had to learn how to build some walls, and Leia had to learn how to tear some down. StarWars.com: Hope was an important undercurrent in your book Rebel Rising, which explored Jyn Erso's life before the main events in Rogue One. What are some of the recurring themes readers can expect in this tale? Did he have memories of their father? Was that why he was so capable of forgiving the monster that was Darth Vader? They had been separated at birth, not just from each other but from their biological parents. Maybe Leia had a connection with their mother, and Luke had a connection with their father.
Star Wars has had dozens of epic and passionate love stories over the decades. Perhaps the greatest of those is the original love story of Princess Leia and Han Solo. Now, for the first time, we get an entire adult novel dedicated to our favorite Star Wars couple with Beth Revis’ The Princess and the Scoundrel. The wedding itself was fun. But then the story keeps going. Their love story keeps going. Past the wedding, past the big cinematic scenes of love. The love exists in all the tiny details, each day, as they build their lives together. Away from the war and rebellion Han and Leia realize that they both have behaviors that need to stop. Something I enjoyed was that Revis showed off Han’s character growth. He has changed from when we first met him, to falling so in love with Leia that he’d do anything for her. After being frozen in carbonite, then risking everything for the Rebellion, Han is eager to stop living his life for other people. He and Leia have earned their future together, a thousand times over. And when he proposes to Leia, it's the first time in a long time he's had a good feeling about this. For Leia, a lifetime of fighting doesn't truly seem over. There is work still to do, penance to pay for the dark secret she now knows runs through her veins. Her brother, Luke, is offering her that chance–one that comes with family and the promise of the Force. But when Han asks her to marry him, Leia finds her answer immediately on her lips…Yes.
Vader's helmet will not be destroyed by Luke's funeral pyre (or by an angry Leia when she stumbles across what's left of it the next day), as Kylo Ren will salvage it 30 years later. The Princess and the Scoundrel is quite easily the most pleasantly surprising Star Wars novel I’ve read in some time. I admit how skeptical I was about this story when it first came out. A Han and Leia honeymoon aboard the Halcyon?! It screamed as a Disney attempt to force feed its new grand and luxurious vacation down our throats. While there are certainly a few homages to the vacation itself, The Princess and the Scoundrel envelopes you in such a deep and introspective story. Immediately, you are whisked away. I must hand all of the flowers to Beth Revis for this one. I completely forgot all my own questions and troubles upon opening the book. Revis delivers a Han and Leia story that’s been glaringly missing from the Disney-era of Star Wars publishing. Romance is at the heart of The Princess and the Scoundrel.
And, perhaps most of all, the book is about Han and Leia – how their relationship is evolving from one fueled by the passion and adrenaline of warfare and stolen moments to one where they can finally focus on themselves. Revis deftly shows how Han and Leia complement one another, embracing and challenging each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Leia looked at him. Since becoming a Jedi Knight, he had always seemed so calm, so sure of his direction.

Throughout the novel, this revelation makes Leia balk at the idea of studying the Force and honing her own skills alongside her twin brother Luke, even as he gently tries to convince her of her potential. We know Leia eventually begins Force training with Luke, but up until this novel we haven’t seen much of her feelings about her abilities and the legacy these two carry. Even though Han and Leia's attraction was the Rebels worst kept secret. Would they ever actually be together? Yes!!! That is the easy part now can two people so different coexist? The other interesting parts are how other will try and use even their wedding as a symbol or political play. How different people perceive Leia. Journal: Captive to Evil · Journal: Hero for Hire · Journal: The Fight for Justice · R2-D2 and Friends Taking place immediately after the Alliances’s win on Endor, this is a whirlwind romance with a subsequent wedding and a honeymoon that is an opportunity for diplomatic and political maneuvering to strengthen ties and project unity and confidence, all the while trying to find some couple time that has been on short supply during the recent war.
