All these tales of elegantly disaffected youth are a far cry from the genre’s inception, which came with a slew of similarly plotted Italian films in the late 70s and 80s that invariably depicted the cannibal as part of a far-flung tribe. With budgets low and splatter content high, these were proudly degenerate films that made sure to feature the C-word in their title and wore their viewers’ disgusted reactions as a badge of pride. The banter between these two is amazing and hilarious! I laughed out loud so many times. But underneath all the snark something else was brewing. A chemistry so hot it was only a matter of time before it blew. They were made for each other. Sloane has never given her heart to anyone. Her body, yes, but never her heart. She has her reasons and when she finally reveals them, it’s heartbreaking. Declan became her strength. With him she could just be, could let him take over and protect her. It’s something she’s never done before but with him, for the first time, something bigger feels possible. This aspect didn't bother me as much as in Carnal Urges, since I knew not to take the mafia part of this series too seriously, but it's still laughable. These people are so hopeless, I feel so embarassed for them. Declan is the blue-eyed, handsome devil with an Irish accent to die for. He is possessive, and dominating, and does not like the way Sloane does her things at first. He feels her crawling up his skin, devouring his mind with her charms, and like most other men, he falls in love with her. But he is determined to tame her and would not hesitate to spank her if it came to it-literally. Her banter with Nat in the first book and with Declan in this one is simply AMAZING !!!! Impossible don’t make you laugh 😂Sloan is simply amazing !!! She is independent, witty-mouth, strong will, determinate, seductive, determinate and siren of a woman. With a hardened heart she found a way to become this indestructible woman after be a young teenager hurted by others and bullied to the extreme.
