About this deal

Smidge comes out of the can as a lotion rather than a spray and it doesn’t feel at all oily on your skin, and I love the fact it smells quite nice too. Each product offers the same level of protection and can provide effective protection for up to 10 hours after aplication. Simply choose the method of application that suits you and your family the most. It is suitable for use in HIGH or LOW risk areas where malaria and other insect transmitted diseases are present. It’s a known fact that midges cause misery to Scotland’s tourists across the Highlands and Islands where they gather in vast numbers between May and September. Steam is applied to remove the oil from the leaves. The water used to produce the steam is recycled through the distillation pots and is then used for irrigation.

Add to your insect protection efforts by covering up in BUGTech™ anti-insect clothing - especially between dusk and dawn. Citriodiol® — The active ingredient comes from a botanical oil found in the leaves of the eucalyptus citriodora tree. This is responsible for the repellency of Mosi-guard® Lemon Eucalyptus products. The main component in Citriodiol® is p-menthane-3,8-diol (PMD), making up at least 64% of the oil. This means you get long-lasting protection from a range of insects in a repellent that’s gentle on your skin and kinder to the planet than chemical sprays. It has been shown to provide up to ten hours’ protection and is suitable, with a pleasant lemony smell. Have you ever thought about buying a naturally and sustainably sourced insect repellent butchanged your mind because you thought it might not work? Were you concerned that naturally derived products may not be tested as thoroughly asmore established, synthetic repellents? When it comes to Mosi-guard® Lemon Eucalyptus insect repellents you can put these concerns to rest.Leaves and branches are harvested by hand from the trees. The branches are then cut selectively from each tree so that the trees can continue to grow and produce new leaves for many years. Once the branches have been harvested, the twigs containing leaves are cut from the branches. The leaves and small twigs are steam distilled to produce Eucalyptus Citriodora Oil.

PEG-8 Distearate and Steareth-2 — Waxy solids used as co-emulsifiers for oil-in water emulsions. They work in combination with steareth-21 to form a glossy white lotion.

Citriodiol is derived from the oil of Eucalyptus citriodora, or lemon eucalyptus, and is marketed as an alternative to Deet. Mosi-guard is supplied by a small Leeds-based company, Citrefine. It’s also the cheapest of the bunch, has a manual pump dispenser, and is infused with natural oils so it’s virtually free of chemicals. Mosi-guard® Lemon Eucalyptus Spray and Spray Extra contain ethanol and isopropyl alcohol which we use as solvents because the active ingredient is oily and won’t mix into a spray form with just water Cetearyl Alcohol — A waxy solid derived from fatty alcohol. It acts as an emulsion stabiliser and prevents separation of the oils and water.
