About this deal

The blue'ish fluid was applied, and then i left it on over night to fully get to work on the remaining rust, by the next day it was a nice even dark color ,before using some fiberglass, to finish it off application of under sealer to make it fully water tight . Surprisingly, the Deox-C actually seems to soften it up to the extent that a scotchbright pad will take it off without much work.

The long-term performance of Bilt Hamber Hydratehydrate 80 has been proven to significantly increase coating life in independent tests conducted by the German TÜV organisation under conditions of VDA 621-415 (6 cycles, or 1008 hrs) which included exposure to hot salt-spray, 100% relative humidity and drying atmospheres with each cycle lasting 168 hours. Where rapid work progress is required hydrate 80 can usually be over coated after 3 hours without performance loss. Hydrate-80 provides powerful protection to rusted steel surfaces, its electrochemical function stabilises existing corrosion by converting the iron oxides into a protective metal complex and it also combines with surface moisture and oxygen depriving the corrosion process of the conditions it requires. The unicorn poop wick carrier still needs a little more hammer and dolly work to straighten out some irregularities in it's shape, and that could also use a touch with the MIG to fix a less critical popped spot weld, I'm also far from happy with the finish on the lid, but apart from that it's not too far off.As with all treatments preparation is important:Remove loose, flaky rust with a wire brush and abrasive paper (or if favoured power tools). It's a 6" steel tube around a 3" circular flame, but the chimney allows room air to be sucked up all around it's base. I had trouble getting the wick in, and as I had started shaking with pain by that point I was a little heavy handed with it, and it won't trim to burn cleanly all the way around, so I've got another new wick on the way to hopefully fit when I'm not feeling so messed up.

Well, the tank needed a little more soldering work than I'd expected, and I still wasn't anywhere near happy with the level of my prep work I'd managed to do, but today's been the only time I've felt up to messing about with this in a week (Almost constant mid level dizziness has been dictating what I've been capable of doing without it being too dangerous when I fall over. Our Double Speed-Wax has won the “best wax and sealant” award in the Auto-Express magazine product awards for the last 4 years, winning 5 years in total. When it says it can go over rust, are we talking clean metal, with light pitting which may hold rust, or rubbed down, but visibly rusty metal? So I decided a little light project might help me snap out of it, and I bought an old and abused Aladdin Blue Flame paraffin heater. On the mig forum there has also been discussion about the Lechler 29107 epoxy primer, which although described as 2 pack, is possibly non iso.
