Whilst the boys are old enough to just have a booster seat (such as the mifold Comfort that we use for backpacking), we prefer a car seat with a head rest as the passenger seat they sit on doesn’t have one. Made of aircraft-grade aluminium (which is as strong as steel), the mifold weighs the same as a bottle of water making it the perfect travelling companion. There are many journeys made where children do not have a booster seat and travel without any form of assisted protection beyond using a regular adult sized seat-belt.

With the use of a 3-belt guide, mifold adjusts the adult seat belt to fit the child by keeping the shoulder strap away from the face and neck, but correctly postitioning it on the collar bone, and the lap belt off the abdomen but on the hip bones instead. I recorded a video for my Instagram stories showing me setting it up and I think it took me less than 40 seconds to demonstrate it!I guess it’s handy to have one in the side lines so if necessary we can use something rather than be stuck.
