About this deal

The set of 60 picture flash cards covers all the letter sounds taught in Jolly Phonics, plus 17 alternatives. With three lively series in each level, children are able to practise their phonic skills while developing key reading skills. As a teacher in a school that has just adopted the Jolly Phonics scheme I purchased this video for my own benefit to see if it would help me remember the actions suggested for each letter sound.

Tub contains 2 each of the 42 letter sounds, 4 each of the vowels a, e , i and o, 6 each of m and d. This means that although snake had no difficulty hearing 3 sounds in hen, it would be entirely consistent with what they have been taught for the children to hear only 2 sounds the h and the n. I like that the book is hard cover and pages are thick, pictures vibrant (and relevant) even though the stories are very weird - My son hasn’t been interested in the book so far, but I am sure when he is ready he will get a lot out of this book. The Rocket and Other Stories contains six engaging fiction stories and provides comprehension questions, discussion activities and guidance for parents. Previous review : Like most parents, I am just a keen parent who wants to give their child the best start in life.

Its just a shame its not a bit more modern, but then if they like it and they are learning then that's what counts. You can use this book as a bed time story book and then, two years latter, it will be your own kids reading the book to you. I have used most of the Jolly Phonics resources in my classroom for several years now and find it an excellent programme. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child.

It teaches your child the phonetic sound of each letter and set of letter blends, which is vital for learning to read. Because some of my mummy friends whose children were only 2 or 3 said that their child was already recognising alphabets and blending small words, I had been very keen to introduce phonics to my very clever son. Each story takes children on an immersive experience, bringing the letters to life and igniting their imagination. ALthough their school (the older 2, obviously) doesn't use Jolly Phonics, the kids seem to love the book. This DVD is great for little ones, colourful and easy to follow can be watched in little chunks when attention span is limited. It is not included in promotions available to our main range products, as stated in our terms of service.

Neuware - With phonics being the widespread method of teaching in primary schools, this A-Z picture book is sure to be popular. This explicit teaching of continuous blending should also be of help to children with good aural memories as it should enable them to access longer words using phonics. So my advise to any first time or a clueless but keen parent like me would be this : don’t worry if your mummy friends say that their 2 year old is recognising alphabets and blending and reading/writing dictionary at 3.
