About this deal

Man, the synopsis really didn’t do this book any justice, giving the reader the barest of bare-bones ideas of what Echoes is really about.

At a certain point, we leave behind the flashbacks and it seemed to do so at a pretty critical moment. After getting her International Baccalaureate Diploma, Alice is studying English Language and Literature at University. So what I will say… the opening chapter is Fiona and Miles on a plane that crashes and leaves them stranded on an unknown island. What was special about them in this case is that you really think you know which timeline came first, but as you read on you stop and think…wait, did this happen BEFORE the other sequence of events? I will say, it did keep me at the edge of my seat wondering what is really happening most of the book and even at the end I was interested in jumping into the next book right away. When I finished The Foghorn Echoes, I felt that I had read a fiction which was unquestionably, undeniably true.Susan created the designs to resemble heirloom pieces, well-loved and handed down through generations, with stories interwoven into their fabric. Usually I go straight to YA Fantasy although sometimes I like a little bit of mystery but there aren't a lot in the YA section. Knowing that her parents would never accept her marriage to a Catholic, Beata followed her heart anyway.

She becomes involved with the work of the local Resistance movement and in time heads the local cell. I think this was part of the reason that I never felt emotionally connected to the characters or the story.Overall, I think there's a sequel considering the ending but still, I think I won't be reading it since I don't want to get any further headache. We’ve already talked about where Echoes was filmed and what happened to the twins at the end of the series.

Given the tenuous explanations that are offered for other aspects of the plot, I’m not sure I trust a sequel to clear it up for me. Angela teaches at the local school and takes care of her crippled mother, but Angela's mother is most proud of Sean. Both were very deep, and even though this is told solely from Fiona’s point of view, I felt like we got to know Miles on a deeper level too. It includes cardigans, sweaters, vests, and a dress, as well as shawls, socks, hats, mittens, a blanket, and even a tie. They are custom blends of British breed sheep, spun in the UK and hand-dyed at Susan’s studio in a former mill.I won’t say there were any glaring pot holes, per se, but plot points/devices hit pretty thin ice at times. Binchy tells the emotive story of lives that are intertwined through the years, the challenges, of love, class, hardships, infidelities, betrayal and tragedy, where the echoes of the past can be hard to shake off. It comes with a huge amount of joy but also heartbreak because you’re watching ideas you deeply love be binned and you’re trying to fight for them, but often there’s very little you can do.
