Here we have a higher strength bottling of the Original expression from Bumbu, now bottled at 40% ABV! Can see it work if you enjoy drinking mixers, however, to drink this near you must enjoy a complex layers this rum brings to the table. Crafted by hand in Barbados, at our historic distillery established in 1893, distilled with the finest sugarcanes from eight countries throughout the Caribbean and South America, and aged up to 15 years in Kentucky medium char oak barrels to create a beautifully smooth, complex and balanced rum.

After this Bambu XO rum is distilled it is treated to an 18-year rest inside white oak bourbon barrels all the way from America before another short stint in Andalusian sherry barrels. The aged Caribbean rum has had native spices added to it, inspired by 16th and 17th century recipes used by West Indian sailors.Its striking black bottle design with crossed bones and embossed lettering makes this rum immediately feel affiliated with pirates. Delivering a satisfying and sensational palate experience, Bumbu Creme is perfect simply sat neatly on the rocks on a summers evening. The XO is matured for up to eighteen years in bourbon barrels then finished in casks seasoned with Spanish Andalusian sherry, ensuring an impressively smooth and balanced body. The rum itself is a pretty smooth sipper not to sweet, but then you get hit with a sweet wave of bananna.

If this was marketed as the Spiced Rum Based Drink it is, instead of as you can see from the advert above it is noted as being “The Craft Rum” I wouldn’t have much of an issue with this.The Rum is stylishly presented in a heavyweight glass bottle that is a work of art on its own, adorned with a tarnished metal "X" in front and map of the Caribbean across the back. With notes of sweet toffee, orange peel, vanilla and accents of pepper and coffee, this XO edition has a great well-rounded flavour. Here, our ground water is purified as it’s forced through our natural limestone, making Barbadian water some of the finest in the world. The vanilla overtones are dominant and maybe a bit overpowering which exhibits a sweetness that is even hard to add a mixer. Our Rum is distilled using two continuous stills, at a historic Barbadian distillery founded in 1893, whose traditional rum stills date back to 1840.
