About this deal

Perfect for accompanying yourself and practicing your instrument, silently if you wish thanks to the mini-jack headphone output. This condensed technology puts an infinite number of possible sounds and combinations at your fingertips, with studio quality.

I don't own a Fractal anymore so I can't A/B test them properly, but to my noob hands and ears I'd probably not be able to tell the difference. For practical purposes it's not a big deal, but if you have an issue with that type of behaviour, it might be something to keep in mind. You can then choose which finance term you'd like to apply for, and change your deposit if you wish.I think you may be right about the scenes feature needing the dimmed out effect icon to be persistent, since scenes is all about switching on and off effects blocks.

Simulated pedals like overdrive, wah, modulation effects like Chorus or flanger, Delay and Reverb as well as compressors and Noise Gates can be easily placed in 11 blocks at any point of the signal chain to achieve different sound effects in combination. The MG30 provides a wide variety of highly recognized amp and effect pedal models: 30 mythical amps, about 20 cabinets/IRs, 8 microphones (3 different positions), as well as about 50 effect pedals: compressors, overdrives, distortions, modulations, EQs, noise gates, delays and reverbs.

Personally, I've a hard time to understand the choices made by the NUX team when it comes to output modes and pre/post EQing. I'd have more chance of piloting the Space Shuttle blindfolded judging by the options available on the Stomp! The 4 cables method worked as expected, albeit with a slight comb filtering effect at low volume (reason: the Hot Rod always sends a slight amount of direct sound to the output when its loop is used).

PIC 2 still shows in WHITE the resonant peak of the guitar pickup direct to the board and, in GREEN, the response of the same thing through the MG-30, all FX's disabled, in STUDIO DIRECT output mode. For absolute precision in editing individual patches, Nux furthermore provides the QuickTone Editor for Windows and macOS, which applies all changes in real-time and provides extensive tools for finding the perfect sound. I haven't had an MG30 in a while, but I think I remember that some patches were meant to be used with an amp and didn't have them. If you watch the YouTube videos you'll get a good impression of what it can do, once you accept the sponsorship in place.I've tried to reproduce your ParaEQ as good as I could and did try it not with an amp but just using the amp models and into my FRFR monitors. So- great for home play or recording, but I always seem to run into some kind of issue with them in uncontrolled environments. I was a little peeved when I finally found someone that said they were in Texas and had a new one and then come to find out it’s the one I actually got from China after a three weeks to a month and then another two weeks added on. The effects are also pretty good and the hall reverb on it is quickly becoming one of my favourite sounding reverbs on anything I've ever used. It disables the volume pedal BUT can send the signal to a regular amp while the same signal keeps feeding the amp simulation inside the MG.

For me the ideal use is playing through phones on my sofa and some occasional recording, for that it's perfect. It doesn't make a difference in how it sounds obviously, but it adds a sense of interaction to the experience that makes it way more enjoyable to tweak the thing compared to the, for example, boring red horizontal scroll bars on other modelers *cough Helix cough*. Are they accurate, no idea, but to be honest I don't generally hunt for *that sound*, more often, a good one will do. I have used and played with several effects units but none had the sound quality this NUX MG-30 delivers. My amp and cabinet simulation was taken care of by a Hotone ‘something or other’ The name escapes me. Modulatable signal chain consisting of 11 independent blocks (Comp, EFX, Amp, IR, EQ, Mod, Delay, Reverb. While I'm there: as already mentioned in post 32, I now use the "send" plug of the FX loop as a "normal" output for FX's.
