About this deal

The newly added Mini-LED technology increases the dimming zones compared to last year by more than a factor of 10 (55" (65"x7. There’s even a headphone jack so you can listen to movies or music without disturbing the rest of the house.

I’m an ISF-certified TV calibrator and a THX-certified home theater professional, and I’m here to help you understand 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and even 8K (and to reassure you that you don’t need to worry about 8K at all for at least a few more years). There’s too much bleed from the LED lighting and inconsistency across the panel to get those dramatic low-lights and the intensity dips further when viewed from even slightly off-axis.

It has excellent contrast, an effective local dimming feature, and good peak brightness in HDR, so bright highlights stand out well. Picture quality tests include broadcast 1080i high-definition TV, Freeview, Freeview HD, viewing angle and the stability of motion in fast action scenes. If you don’t want your TV to always listen for a wake word, you can turn off hands-free Google Assistant via the settings or manually toggle the privacy switch on the microphone array.

The U7H has a slightly better local dimming feature, and its backlight-strobing feature can flicker at both 60Hz and 120Hz, so there's no image duplication when watching 60Hz content with the feature enabled. With AI Picture Optimization technology, scene by scene image component analysis for best matching colour, brightness and shadows. See images of the utmost clarity, explore endless viewing options, and make use of multiple connection ports for additional devices. The Hisense is a lot brighter, allowing it to better overcome glare in a bright room, and bright highlights in HDR stand out better.

This leads to an HDR image that is more vibrant, lifelike, and has highlights that pop when compared to the Q60B. While the TCL has an inconsistent response time that is particularly annoying to gamers but is otherwise great for most content, the Hisense's response time is just consistently okay all the time.

Filmmaker mode is a picture mode designed to reduce the amount of post-processing applied to movies and TV shows giving you a much cleaner and cinematic experience, allowing you to enjoy content in the way the filmmakers intended. as real users, posing a threat to a site’s security, so the site sometimes runs random security checks. The best picture preset for this is Filmmaker Mode (FMM) as it tries to follow the industry standards for SDR and HDR content. The international models that carry the same model name are completely different TVs, as they use completely different panels and smart platforms, so these results aren't valid for those models.

Finally, the TCL is better for gaming thanks to its higher refresh rate and faster response time, resulting in much smoother motion handling and less blur behind fast-moving objects. It’s just over half as bright as the U8H (1,982 nits with an 18% white field in HDR), but almost twice as bright as the U6H (588 nits). They are roughly equal for both HDR and SDR brightness, although the TCL has better contrast and black uniformity, helped by a better local dimming feature. Essential for gamers and video streamers you'll enjoy the benefit of a more stable connection with less of that frustrating buffering. Incredible entertainment and visual excellence are always at your fingertips with the Hisense 55U8HQTUK Smart TV.

IMAX enhanced gives you the opportunity to experience content as the filmmaker intended, it's the closest you can get to that IMAX cinema experience in the comfort of your own home. HDR also looks much better on the U7H due to its wider color gamut, much better color volume, higher HDR peak brightness, and better PQ EOTF tracking, so HDR content is more accurate, more vibrant and lifelike, and bright highlights pop much more than on the Samsung. While the Hisense has the same gaming features as the Samsung, it has slightly worse input lag and a much worse response time, so the Samsung is the better gaming TV. Off-axis viewing was also poor from the U7H with gamma and colour washout from around 30 degrees and more. On the other hand, the Sony TV has better picture and motion processing, so upscaled content looks a bit better, and there are fewer artifacts in gradients.

Watching the BBC news in Full HD, the close-ups of the in-studio correspondents are good, there’s reasonable upscaled skin detail and colour balance and vibrancy throughout the picture remains strong. for the 65-inch version) isn’t nearly as bright as the U7H, but its OLED technology offers an incredibly lifelike picture. Display the 65U7HQTUK on its stylish swivel stand, or if space is limited, you can mount it on the wall.
