About this deal

Going forward I hope they fix this and make these battle boxes more user-friendly in the way you approach the units contained within.

Whilst they haven’t been in the limelight anywhere near as much as their hated loyalist foes, their range has been bolstered with the addition of the occasional new model – but again, the rate at which these have been received hasn’t come close to certain other factions within the Warhammer 40,000 franchise. Their damage output isn’t spectacular on baseline, but that could change depending on what the codex brings.Whilst this little run-down serves in the first instance to highlight the huge disparity between the number of figures included in a 40K box when compared to an AoS box, it also shows that, when compared to either franchise, 16 figures is pretty poor. The jet bikes have a lot of sticky-out fins and footrests that do seem to love slipping out of their slots when you turn your back on them for a moment, and these parts won’t survive being dropped even from a small height (as I found out to my detriment). They are designed to be the narrative rope that binds the box together – providing reason as to why the two factions are in the box are out for each other’s blood. They completely wipe out the mutants, cultists and meager psykers guarding the World Spirit before they could even raise an alarm. It It takes the very essence of what the Aeldari have grown into as a faction over the three decades since their inception and distils it into a single, magnificent figure.

The Warpsmith model is absolutely gorgeous with some nice echoes of his former Astartes standing with it being a corrupted mirror of the loyalist version! Having forged a blood oath with Daethe ages ago, she set out to safe the spirits and avenge the dead.Though none of his weapons have a range further than 12", you'll feel no fear getting up close and personal with him as he's sporting a 2+ Save characteristic. Taking place in the same area of the galaxy as the rest of Warhammer 40,000's competitive season, Eldritch Omens charts the story of a pivotal battle between the Aeldari and the Chaos Space Marines in the Nachmund Gauntlet (which we've covered with the release of the Grand Tournament mission pack, and the standalone tome Vigilus Alone). As mentioned above, the standouts in the box are definitely the Shroud Runners, both for their gameplay mechanics and the look of them. All the Asuryani units in this box have two new abilities listed – Battle Focus and Strands of Fate.

I do not doubt, however, that there are a small number of people out there who really enjoy exploring the new ways they can play with their units, but this in turn just makes it all the more difficult to judge the overall worth and value of these little booklets. As pictured, 32-page Eldritch Omens campaign book including new background, missions, and rules for both Craftworld Aeldari and Heretic Astartes units. The Chosen are wildly dynamic compared to most of their other Chaos brethren, and the Warpsmith looks absolutely brutal.

Arguably the content in the book is built around Crusade, and as so Power works well for drawing together two armies to play through the content with. He’s also a very easy model to put together with clear, obvious contact points and distinct components that require little to no clean up whatsoever. The story within tells of the exploits of the Aeldari Autarch Ghaelyn as she and a small contingent of warriors seek to escape the clutches of the Chaos Space Marine D'vok the Warpsmith. This will allow him to make use of shooting as if stationary, a D6 move after shooting, and the new monofaction bonus Strands of Fate, allowing you to sub in various die as 6’s based on the value shown on their die face that corresponds to a chart. There’s a lot to unpack here based on what we know about the various changes coming in Codex Aeldari, so let's start with the Autarch. On the edge of the roiling warp storms that plague the Nachmund Gauntlet, the bloodthirsty hunters of Craftworld Saim-Hann are set to clash with an elite Forgeborn Warband.
