I know there are many positive reviews for this one but I personally found a lot of flaws in it that made the book simply boring and unoriginal for me. That is up until a malfunction causes the robot to rise to the surface and causes her father to disappear sometimes.

It took some time for me to fully engage with the story, around 75% is when it really started picking up for me. Overall, I definitely recommend this if you want something fun that provides a sexy twist on The Bachelor with a high fantasy fae romance. I mean, when she started ranting at him when meeting him for the first time, I KNEW the tension would be good. No 500 year old immortal who sweeps up a 19 year old doe-eyed, barely-legal woman and showers her with riches and a new life. Also… loved the FF reference (though I’m guessing it was more of a folklore reference but I’m a Final Fantasy fan and hoping it’s that lol).It works really well for getting the reader invested in Cassie, it’s just that I always want more history in my books! As Frost and his team dig deeper, everything seems to lead back to Ivan Fielding’s murky lifetime of misdeeds. But with nowhere to live since his wife’s family sold his matrimonial home, Frost’s got other things on his mind.
