I successfully quit smoking almost 20 years ago after reading his other easyway book and was desperate so thought I'd give this a try, with low expectations. By this point in his life, Allen was chain-smoking 100 cigarettes a day, despite the fact that his older sister, Marion, and his father had died prematurely of lung cancer. Even though this book has helped me I can’t give it 5 stars because I think there’s a lot of dietary advice in the book that isn’t particularly accurate. Strangely I do feel like I got something out of it, but it could have been condensed into a much smaller book. But as you drink, your thirst disappears and you feel satisfied – the desire to drink more water is gone. The author keeps repeating again and again that once you eat whole food you get satisfied and no longer desire eating past fullness or for emotional reason, it’s not true.I believe that this book could be super helpful to many people, just like “easy way to quit smoking” was helpful to me.

I read the Allen Carr stop smoking book years ago and thought it was brillaint and it totally worked for me.

I have the added problems of IBS, so when I eat healthy foods, I bloat and it messes with my mind as I look pregnant after an apple, even if I'm not overdoing calories. Carr went on to author the best-selling book The Easy Way to Stop Smoking, which has sold over 13 million copies globally.
