About this deal

There is general consensus in the audio world which of the pins are assigned to a signal as used by HIFIMAN for instance. It's a Douk audio rebrand from Weiliang Audio E600 which from my experience cannot do proper SE>BAL or BAL>SE, as well as having an out of phase XLR-4 output.

StereoNET (Australia) is part of an international network of publications owned wholly by Sound Media Group (Australia). It warns that not having this output filter could damage the speaker voice coil and also the EMI could have negative impacts on nearby devices. Read more My first unit had a problem with the AUX section and the seller sent a new one immediately. There was reported that Russian tubes sound much better, and the tubes with golden grids make the best sound.Me and others were not so lucky, I can only conclude there is very little quality checking on these. From my experience any decent vintage amp/receiver from 70s is much much better then any Chinese class D amplifier. After being lived in Shanghai for a year, my experiences just put me off that anything is made in china, especially Chinese brand.

There is only one power transformer under the box, which delivers 17V to output transistors, 7V to microchips and 6. This is interesting as I used a signal generator with my standard HD650 XLR-4 cable and looked at the phase on my Rigol DS1054 oscilocope and pin for pin the input and output are in phase. As such I would bet this amp does not meet the FCC Part rules section 15B which is a requirement by law and as such most likely is even illegal to distribute in the US. When I brought this to their attention, they sent me a new faceplate with "Nobsound" on it but no "E-600.

We have over 30 years' experience with using and listening to high end audio amplifiers and over 25 years in improving the valves. The cheapest amplifier with just analogue inputs that I would be willing to risk my money with is probably the 2x100 watt Sony STR130.

Desire to learn and share knowledge of science required as is 20 years of participation in forums (not all true). The audio is detailed and transparent and quite revealing that my Mordaunt Short MS15 speakers, although lacking a bit of bas.

I would not recommend this product if you want to keep your speakers safe and avoid having massive EMI issues. Class-D amplifiers work by switching the output between ground and the supply voltage at a high frequency.

Normally tyhere is an output lowpass filter which removes those switching components and only leave the audio signal. On topic, I've also heard some excellent sounding Chinese gear like Ming-Da and Line Magnetic (have an LM dac myself) and have built gear using affordable (not cheap) Chinese line transformers, plate chokes etc. When manufacturers measure amplifier dirtortion they usually measure distortion by adding a low-pass filter after the Class-D amplifier. AUX mode has slightly better sound but I find myself connecting mostly with Bluetooth because it's so convenient.
