About this deal

The only very slight observation is that you really need to sleeve the cards if you want this game to survive any length of time. In My First Castle Panic, a very simplified version of Castle Panic which can be played by children 4 and up (or I think even younger if you’re willing to be patient), you will be working together to stop monsters hitting the castle and wall protecting it by taking it in turns to play cards matching the shapes and colours on the board if those spaces are occupied by a monster.

My First Castle Panic is a cooperative game where the players are trying to stop the monsters from smashing up their castle. It’s simple and quick to learn and the whole game plays out in around 10-15 minutes which is great for younger children. I wish that it was a double-sided board with a slightly longer track for when The Daughter gets a little older. Join the community and come discuss games like Codenames, Wingspan, Brass, and all your other favorite games!Since our main focus with board games is on games to play with our kids - I absolutely love it when somebody makes junior versions of our favorite board games. They love playing it and the ruleset is easy enough that they can understand how to play with minimal assistance from me.

I’m thinking before Monopoly and before Cluedo, and for me it was probably the frustration of snakes and ladders. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Players trade cards, hit and slay monsters, and plan strategies together to keep their castle towers intact. The active player draws the top card of the deck then may either play one of their cards that matches the color and shape of one of the spaces occupied by a monster, or they can ask someone else to play their card that matches. I’m good with that, and I know we’ll be upgrading him to standard Castle Panic when he’s old enough.

Have Justin De Witt and the Fireside Games crew struck the right balance between simple rules and engaging game play? Now that my kids are starting to finally reach the age where games with them are actually interesting (please no more memory games), I’m still always on the lookout for new experiences with them. One was a variant of Pretty, Pretty Princess, and that has been quite popular, but mostly just for taking the jewelry and making daddy wear it around the house.
