This was a VERY slow burn story, like almost to the end slow burn but honestly for this couple and their situation it worked. I get why Zoey would be hurt, but there's a point where I feel it goes from licking wounds a bit to just trying to punish the other person - be it consciously or subconsciously. Zoey and Ryan are anything but typical and I think that’s a large part of what made me love them so much.

Odette Stone is clearly an author that knows how to improve her work and I can say with confidence that she’s slowly becoming one of my favorite authors! The story itself is a good one - a cinderella start to the fairy tale ending, but there is a lot of frustrated eye rolls in there and a few are you kidding me's too. I fell in love with Mica, the crazy Russian hockey player, in the 2 nd book of this series Home Game, so I was really excited to learn more about him and watch the man who didn’t believe in love and family find that and boy did he.

I liked that there was some actual hockey in the book, too, and some real interactions between players etc.
