About this deal

Both Charge devices will use a similar-size wristband, so Charge 3 owners who want to upgrade but like their old band will be able to easily swap them. Your daily Sleep Score gives you a “snapshot of your sleep quality and duration,” based on the amount of time you spent asleep and awake, how much deep and REM sleep you got, your sleeping heart rate, and how restless you were. I’d say it’s just about worth it, mainly because Fitbit has such a big community – and partially because the Charge 4 also throws in swim tracking alongside its other capabilities.

Its lines are smoother and softer (matching those of the Fitbit Versa 3, Sense, Inspire 2 and Luxe) and it's available in three colors: black, lunar white, and steel blue. Its multiple functions will monitor your daily life and will allow you to know the quality of your sleep. The Charge 4 also supports Smart Wake, which uses machine learning to wake you at an optimal time when you’re in light sleep. In the Exercise section of the Fitbit app, you can see a color-coded workout intensity map showing your route and your heart rate zone at any point. If you would like your activity tracker to look more like a classic watch then the Fitbit Charge 4 metal straps are the ones you are looking for. Any fitness tracker is only as strong as its accompanying app, so it's great to see that Fitbit's mobile app has received a major update for the release of the Charge 4.

Compared with the data gleaned from the aforementioned watch with a Garmin HRM-Run chest attached, the Fitbit tracked pretty close. When i work out I need accurate information readily available to monitor primarily my heart rate, so i dont exceed my target rate for any extended period of time. Plus Fitbit Pay is now available on all Charge 4 models, not just the more expensive Special Edition.

The quick answer to this question is well enough, but it’s a long way from the best GPS tracking wearable we’ve tested here at Expert Reviews. Access to the Fitbit app alone is reason enough to spend the extra cash on the Charge 4, in my opinion. The Fitbit Charge 4 looks almost identical to its predecessor, including the grayscale touchscreen, but the addition of built-in GPS makes a huge difference, and helps make it a viable alternative to fully-fledged running watches if you enjoy working out for fun and health, but don't need a torrent of data on splits, cadence and elevation.

Fitbit Charge 4 face-offs to see the benefits you'll get with a traditional fitness tracker over a full-fledged smartwatch. I upgraded from a charge 2 and its a big difference and it has so much more and the display is bigger. The fine and supple leather feels nicely on the wrist and the strap is easy to adjust with the metal buckle.
