About this deal

stars instead of 4, because this book leans HEAVILY toward having a natural birth (very anti-medication and anti-epidural) which isn’t for everyone! Another really helpful book--in fact, I would say that this one is the most comprehensive in terms of covering medical, practical, and emotional aspects of birth. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I can see how it might feel judging to some people in some circumstances, which I'm not sure I've seen or understood before.

I thought this book was well written and quite comprehensive, covering everything from the history of birth to birth plans and even includes birth stories from different types of births. Unfortunately this is not cheap, but it is again a fascinating look at what your baby might be up to.

Rebecca Grant is a freelance journalist based in Portland, Oregon, who covers reproductive rights, health, and justice. If you are struggling with worrying about whether you are 'getting it right' as a mother, it can be really helpful to know that your baby will be trying to help you.

Prepare for a safe and joyful birth-with the help of America's foremost baby and childcare experts Since women enjoy more birthing options today than ever before, the path toward a safe and satisfying birth can be fraught with important decisions. On the advice of my doula, I have stopped reading anything about birth and pregnancy now that I'm in week 37.

This book doesn’t take long to get through, but provides useful insights and ideas to help with recovery from Birth Trauma. Written by an experienced Midwife and hypnotherapist, with lots of real life birth stories, this book will give you and your birth partner the tools and techniques you need to feel confident, calm and even excited for your baby’s arrival. In The Happy Birth Book, Beverley Turner, with the help of midwife Pam Wild, lays out all the facts about pregnancy, birth and new parenthood. Babies are resilient and having a healthy birth is so much more important than having a "Sears" birth. Milli reminds us that there is another way; we have human rights and choices, and the evidence base at times shows something very different to what is routinely practised in a lot of hospitals and birthing centres up and down the country.
